Job Description:

Pomona College, Claremont, invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position in German Studies to teach one course (in English) during the spring semester 2026. Ph.D. preferred and relevant teaching experience required. We will also consider applicants who are in ABD status or hold a relevant MA degree with teaching experience.


The available course is offered as GRMT 147: Special Topics in German Studies and for spring 2026 focuses on German film and media. Based on a blend of texts, literary sources, and visual materials, discussions in media, and scholarly debates, the course provides a survey of the present state of the German film and media landscape, including film, television, radio, social media, video games etc. It encompasses analysis of the historical emergence of media as well as within their international and comparative context. Taught in English.
