ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in monitoring utilization of department resources, including staff, equipment, supplies and space.
- Assists with basic supervisory tasks as assigned.
- Assists with timekeeping, scheduling and daily assignments for staff.
- Completes all required documentation.
- Continues professional development and maintains current clinical competency.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to assess patients and complete other clinical responsibilities from a developmental perspective.
- Evaluates patients and provides therapy services according to department standards an average of 80% of productive hours.
- Participates in clinical education program.
- Participates in orientation and training of department and other hospital staff.
- Participates in recruitment and retention efforts.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the developmental level of adolescent patients and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the needs of the adolescent patient.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the developmental level of pediatric patients and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the needs of the pediatric patient.
- Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the effects of aging and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the geriatric patient's needs.
- Promotes professional development of staff through educational activities and acts as a resource in area of specialty.
- Represents the department in inter departmental functions, as requested.
- Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization- wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation; education; departmental and interdepartmental quality control; quality improvement; and quality planning activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum (Required)
Graduate of accredited OT program or equivalent per California board requirements.

Work Experience
Minimum (Required)
- Five years’ experience with demonstrated understanding of hospital operations and advanced clinical expertise.
- Experience as a clinical instructor for therapy students.

Pay Transparency

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides therapy services as part of the multidisciplinary team. Acts as a resource to other staff. May assist with basic supervisory and operational tasks and participate in orientation and educational activities for therapy staff and hospital employees. Develops, maintains, and revises policies and procedures related to therapy services in consultation with Physical Medicine Director. Assists with overall therapy department program/service development, including marketing (community and provider outreach), annual staff competencies, resource utilization and allocation.
