A Brief Overview
The Lead Special Procedures Technologist helps coordinates the day-to-day operations in the hospital Operating Room area where Radiology staff is needed to support surgery staff.
Education Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Radiologic Technologist. Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 3 years Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist in an operating room setting. Required
- 1 year Leadership experience. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Technologist - ARRT Required
- Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire
What you will do
- Assign Daily OR cases to other Special Procedure Technologists, and communicates with Lead Acute Care Radiologic Technologist and Imaging Manager assignments for the day.
- Discussions with Imaging Director, Department Manager, and Director/Manager of OR staff to resolve problem duties, thus including monthly meetings to discuss workflow.
- Develop, in conjunction with Diagnostic Imaging Manager, maintains work schedules to obtain optimum care and treatment of the patient and the most efficient use of department personnel.
- Coordinate the flow of patients with OR staff in order to keep waiting time to a minimum and expedite patients as needed.
- Will be responsible for making the on-call schedule, and responding to on call issues and will report to Imaging Manager any and all issues that happen.
- Addressing issues that arise in the OR with OR staff and Department Manager.
- Orientation of new employees.
- Constant communication between Lead Acute Care Radiologic Technologist, Department Manager, and OR staff.
- Safety checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and reports problems through proper service channel and to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager.
- Under direction of the Administrative Director, ensures standards compliance for regulatory agencies.
- Maintains professionalism and promotes teamwork in the OR with effective communication.
- Reports daily cases to Imaging Manager to make sure Radiology coverage is in place for cases.
- Give insight to Department manager on how to manage case loads in the OR smoothly with current staff.
