Position Summary:
The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Electronics Engineer and Lab Manager in Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting to the Director of Academic Support Services, this position plays a key role in managing and advancing academic support functions. The role involves overseeing program operations, recommending and implementing policies and procedures, analyzing data to support decision-making, and collaborating with university and Board of Regents stakeholders to address issues, improve services, and ensure clear communication of policies and regulations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to faculty and researchers in the design, fabrication, debugging, programming, testing, and deployment of prototype electronic systems and components.
Assist in troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems to the component level across analog, digital, and mixed-signal platforms.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, fabrication drawings, bills of materials, user manuals, code, and test data.
Assist in the development of research proposals by preparing technical specifications, cost estimates, and equipment recommendations.
Maintain Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) compliance, including chemical inventory, lab safety practices, equipment certifications, and standard operating procedures.
Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment readiness, organization, and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and supplies.
Manage inventory and tracking of laboratory equipment, components, and research-related assets.
Coordinate procurement of supplies, components, and equipment in support of research and instructional activities.
Support system integration, field testing, and deployments in laboratory, outdoor, and maritime environments.
Student Instruction and Support:
Deliver hands-on instruction and technical guidance to students on hardware and software design, development, and troubleshooting.
Support laboratory courses through preparation, demonstrations, and in-class technical instruction.
Train and supervise students in the safe and effective use of electronic equipment, fabrication techniques, and documentation standards.
Reinforce course learning objectives through applied, project-based guidance aligned with faculty instruction.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience required.Salary:
