Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out cutting-edge research in physical layer and air-interface design for next generation mobile communications systems
Research, analyze and evaluate cellular systems and develop wireless protocol designs using
Theoretical and mathematical analysis
Link-level simulations
System-level simulations
Design and develop MATLAB based link-level, or system-level simulations for 6G and beyond
Investigate, survey literature, and present summaries on the state-of-the-art
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and/or technical papers surveying state of the art, describing design and development efforts, and presenting evaluation results
Drive technology generation and disclosure writing and supporting patent applications and downstream support
Qualifications
Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
Experience in link level and/or system level simulations and high proficiency with MATLAB and source control tool (e.g., GitHub) is required
Strong background in wireless communication fundamentals
Familiarity with cellular systems standards (3GPP 4G LTE and 5G) is preferred
Research experience in wireless with a track record of peer-reviewed publications
Strong analytical and research skills
Ability to thrive in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range specific to NY/CA/DE/DC is $40.00 - $50.00 /hr and may include other forms of compensation components including benefits depending on the length of the assignment. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
