The Application Engineering Supervisor manages and supervises the daily activities of the application engineering team for Nordson Sealant Equipment, specializing in meter-mix dispensing solutions. This role consists of leading team through the review of customer applications and specifications in order to quote and engineer systems that help our customers succeed globally.  The Engineering Supervisor oversees and contributes to the design and development of systems, or the adaptation of existing equipment to fulfill customer needs, focusing on superior quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.  The successful candidate ensures New Business Opportunity (NBOs) projects are completed on time and within budget, while acting as advisor to applications engineering team regarding projects, tasks and operations. This position will establish and facilitate daily management routines and key performance indicators to assure high-level of performance and productivity.

Key deliverables will include leading and supporting a team of Application Engineers in the development and execution of New Business Opportunities (NBOs).  Provide leadership and technical guidance in support of the global sales teams.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities                                                

• Supervise application engineering team in the quoting and engineering of system orders meeting customer specification and delivery requirements, while working to achieve annual new business revenue and profitability objectives for Nordson Sealant Equipment.
• Display strong customer passion, responsiveness, and superior communication in support of quoting, project management, and issue resolution within the application engineering team.
• Perform the engineering required to deliver an engineered system that meets and or exceeds the application requirements.

• Manage New Business Opportunities (NBOs) to completion, meeting milestone dates, system performance requirements, and customer expectations.  Meet documentation needs for all systems including system manuals and spare parts lists.
• Complete ownership of an NBOs, performing the previously described functions to meet customer timing and performance requirements. This will include overtime and travel as required.
• Utilize the Nordson Business System to drive continuous improvement; embrace and follow the standard work practices developed for application engineering.
• Demonstrate strong talent management ability working to develop employees while increasing engagement
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical discipline

Experience:

5+ years’ experience in project related engineering

Prior experience working in Capital Equipment, Manufacturing or Automotive industries, preferred.

• Ability to analyze cause and effect within a complex system
• Prior use of SAP, preferred
