Position Summary

The primary function of the Crew Leader is to be responsible for and hold accountable their team members and equipment and are expected to maintain control and consistency on every jobsite. The Crew Leader positively encourages and motivates their team members to conduct themselves in a safe and professional manner in the eye of the customer. The Crew Leader is expected to uphold all qualifications and certifications for safe operation of all company equipment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all aspects of the Crew Leader Handbook.
  • Represent and demonstrate Company leadership attributes while performing the tasks of the job and in developing others.
  • Safely and proficiently operate a Class A or B motor vehicle with the ability to operate an Articulating Boom Loader (ABL).
  • Check truck loads against customer Purchase Order to ensure accuracy before leaving the yard; review and sign off on items at delivery site as final customer order accuracy check.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials safely and per company best practices; direct others in the loading process to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure each jobsite is completed safely and that proper materials and counts were delivered per customer request.
  • Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT.
  • Maintain a positive attitude resulting in a productive and professional team.
  • Be accountable for team member safety, integrity of company equipment, and quality of service delivered to customers.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by management.


Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Minimum Class B License; Class A strongly preferred.
  • Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.


Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a stationary position approximately 40% of the time.
  • Lift building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading and unloading.
  • Frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Constantly move throughout yard and job sites.
  • Operate commercial motor vehicles and/or boom vehicles.
  • Work outdoors while making deliveries.
