Position Summary
The primary function of a Branch Manager is to manage and direct all operation and sales activities of the assigned yard or branch while providing excellent service and delivery execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet profit goals for the yard

  • Maximize opportunities for improving net profit and develop ways to correct negative trends

  • Maintain relationships with customers and understand their needs to drive maximum profit performance

  • Assist the sales team with developing new customers and follow up on sales leads

  • Assist Credit with overdue accounts receivable

  • Set pricing and determine appropriate pricing for the yard

  • Manage post-delivery customer audit programs to improve business processes

  • Oversee customer satisfaction and order accuracy programs

  • Resolve customer complaints regarding service delivery and product quality

  • Order board and materials within general company purchasing guidelines

  • Maintain inventory levels and records in the yard

  • Oversee inter-office procedures

  • Ensure accurate input and confirmation of sales orders, customer information, and related reports

  • Approve all credit memos and return authorizations

  • Ensure yard staffing and equipment meet delivery needs

  • Schedule trucks and team members appropriately

  • Establish and maintain overall operational and delivery strategies

  • Manage variable expenses within budgeted targets

  • Maintain proper maintenance and equipment protection programs

  • Understand and plan for equipment depreciation

  • Ensure equipment is maintained to company operating standards

  • Maintain overall responsibility for yard safety, cleanliness, and injury or accident prevention

  • Enforce safety programs and procedures

  • Investigate all accidents and injuries thoroughly

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of related work experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing a profit-making operation by setting and meeting goals

  • Demonstrated knowledge of overall distribution business

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time

  • Frequent movement within the office and warehouse
