Venerable is a growing Variable Annuity business seeking motivated, self-directed IT Interns with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. We are offering three distinct internship opportunities within our IT organization; each focused on different areas of application development and technology innovation. Interns will work closely with mentors, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain exposure to senior IT leaders.

Location: West Chester, PA (Hybrid: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote)
Duration: Late May – Mid August
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Paid Internship

Venerable is offering six unique opportunities across our technology organization. This program is designed for current sophomores, juniors and seniors, enrolled in a four-year bachelor's degree program.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with mentors and IT professionals.

• Participate in agile ceremonies and cross-functional team meetings.

• Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and programming teams.

• Assist in ongoing application development.

• Help with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.

• Contribute to building APIs, microservices, and automation solutions.

• Assist in documentation of technical processes, standards, and approaches.

• Gain exposure to senior IT leaders.

• Familiarize with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and modern development practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD).

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.

• Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/DHTML).

• Understanding of REST APIs, cloud platforms, and containerization (Docker).

• Experience or exposure to Gen-AI tools (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain) is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to work well in teams, both in-office and virtually.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Available Internship Tracks

1. Gen-AI Application Development Intern

Focus: Collaborate with developers and data scientists to design, prototype, and deploy Gen-AI solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Support prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and evaluation of AI outputs.

• Contribute to building APIs and microservices leveraging Gen-AI capabilities.

• Document technical processes and model usage.

• Participate in agile ceremonies and cross-functional meetings.

• Familiarize with AWS environment and AI/ML offerings.

• Assist in ongoing application development and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.

• Strong familiarity with Python.

• Exposure to Gen-AI tools (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.).

• Understanding of REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Docker).

2. Business Application Development Intern

Focus: Develop proof-of-concept technical solutions for mobile applications addressing business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Application Services group.

• Work on projects related to annuity policy service operations.

• Assist with troubleshooting and provide technical support.

• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.

• Familiarity with Java, JavaScript, HTML/DHTML, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Minimum GPA of 3.5.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

3. IT Operations & DevSecOps Intern

Focus: Support programming, automation, and data management within IT operations.

Responsibilities:

• Help with planning and executing programming objectives.

• Analyze requirements and convert them into proficient code.

• Assist in documentation of team patterns, standards, and technical approaches.

• Support SCM, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.

• Contribute to ongoing operational and practice improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work well in teams, both in-office and virtually.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
