Job Description:

The Senior Security Officer’s primary function is to provide day-to-day security support for the Justified contracting AFDWs facility located in the National Capital Region.

Performance shall include:

  • Processing SCI nomination for all employees assigned to the Justified contract
  • Schedules and conducts SCI indoctrination and debriefings
  • Process SCI VARs
  • Maintains all security documentation and files in accordance with government requirements (AFDW)
  • Records SCI information into DISS
  • Inputs and maintains all databases within AFDW
  • Provides guidance and instruction to all employees on how to report information to AFDW (suitability, foreign travel, etc)
  • Implements appropriate security programs, polices and processes
  • Maintains liaison with other SSO offices
  • Participates in audits and inspections
  • Escorts facility visitors and maintains associated logs
  • Assist in maintaining personnel security files
  • Perform destruction of classified material
  • Performs miscellaneous administrative support functions as required
  • Assist AFDW in processing SCI nominations (when available)
  • Assist AFDW in scheduling and conducting SCI indoctrination briefings (when available)
  • Strong communications skills required

Experience: 

  • 5+ years with related experience 

  • SSO experience desired

  • Strong communications skills required

Experience Education Equivalents:

  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience

  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience

  • Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area desired 

Security Clearance: 

  • TS/SCI required

  • Must be able to Attain – TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
