GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a SATCOM Systems Specialist to support U.S. Army Europe in Har Keren Israel.
The SATCOM Systems Specialist will be responsible for Designing, planning and building communications networks as well as configuring routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
The Specialist will coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Systems Administrator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in mission command support.
Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education: BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
Required Experience: 5+ years of experience
Clearance Level: Secret Level Security Clearance with an SSBI/Tier 5 Investigation
Certifications: IAT Level certification if required and maintain IAT compliancy as a condition of employment.
Required Skills and Experience: knowledge of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Experience maintaining network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability. Experience coordinating the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. Experience creating plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
