Job Summary

Summary<br>Responsible for coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of bed availability.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Coordinate and facilitate patient admissions and transfers within the hospital. <br>
-Assess bed availability and assign appropriate beds based on patient needs, medical conditions, and care requirements. <br>
-Monitor and manage patient flow within the hospital, optimizing bed utilization and minimizing delays. <br>
-Maintain effective communication with various hospital departments, including nursing units, emergency department, surgery, and clinical areas. <br>
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of bed assignments, transfers, and discharges. <br>
-Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and privacy regulations in patient admissions and bed management processes. <br>
-Address and resolve issues related to bed availability, conflicts, or challenges in patient flow. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Healthcare Management preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Bed Management Experience 2-3 years required and Patient Health Insurance Experience 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient flow processes, and admission/discharge procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems, bed management software, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
