Our lab studies how innate immune cells of the brain communicate with astrocytes and the cerebrovasculature to shape health and neurodegenerative disease. We integrate mouse models with human brain/blood datasets, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, advanced imaging and quantitative physiology. The lab is located within Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases in the Hale Building for Transformative Medicine, with direct access to world-class cores (genomics, imaging, computational). The lab is supported by multi-year NIH awards and major foundation/industry grants. We value rigorous collaborative science, and our alumni have advanced to competitive academic and industry positions.
