Job Summary

Summary<br>Perform diagnostic studies on patients and providing maximum amount of clinical information with minimal radiation exposure to patients.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic exams of various parts of the body which includes setting up equipment and patient in relation to each other to provide best demonstration of body part under study. <br>
-Enters instructions into computers, monitors and evaluates images for accuracy and completeness of order. <br>
-Makes necessary adjustments when judged to be necessary. <br>
-Evaluates radiographs for image quality and completeness. <br>
-Responds to patient's physical and psychological needs. <br>
-Explains all procedures in a clear and concise manner without causing unnecessary anxiety. <br>
-Uses Proper Hand Hygiene before and after patient contact. <br>
-Observes patient's condition and reports any change to nurse or physician. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Radiologic Technologist [Temporary - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Health-Radiation Control Program preferred

Experience
At least one year of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to regularly required to sit.
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel; and to talk or hear.
- Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers, assisting patients with disabilities.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
