Job Summary
PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary purpose of your job is to perform all patient exams with the highest degree of skill, fully utilizing all radiographic, fluoroscopic, mammography and processing equipment to consistently obtain images which demonstrate diagnostic levels of radiographic density, contrast and resolution. You will respond to on-demand requests for services in a timely manner.
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY:
As an Echocardiographer, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates Radiographic and Fluoroscopic fixed equipment. Operates Radiographic and Fluoroscopic mobile equipment. Operates mammography equipment. Produces the expected levels of production (volume) at reasonable rates of speeds and on schedule. Prepares and maintains all QC, licensure, and accreditation documentation. Properly utilizes all radiation protection/shielding procedures for patients and staff. Properly attends to the physical safety of patients and staff. Assures all areas are clean and orderly and supplies are maintained for all exams and procedures. Provides all services to patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Cooperates and promotes team efforts with co-workers and members of the hospital staff. Utilizes departmental and hospital information systems as necessary for patient care. Exercises initiative and actively participation in the reception area, film library and transport functions. Improves performance through education. Maintains required continuing education credits. Provides patient care appropriately to the following age groups:
1. Neonate – Birth to 1 month 2. Infant – 1 month – 1 year 3. Early childhood – 1 yr. – 5 yrs. 4. Late Childhood - 8 yrs – 12 yrs. 5. Adolescence - 13 yrs. – 17 yrs. 6. Young Adult - 18 yrs. – 25 yrs. 7. Adult - 26 yrs. – 54 yrs. 8. Sr. Adult - 55 yrs. – 64 yrs. 9. Geriatric - 64 yrs. - above.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of an Associate’s Degree or Certificate from a recognized Echocardiography Program or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required. CPR/BLS certification is also required. RDCS (AE or PE) certification by the ARDMS.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years clinical and/or professional experience required. Experience with both adults and pediatrics is preferred.
