Job Summary

Helps people of all ages to participate in the activities and occupations that are important to them. Routinely works with individuals who have physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges that affect their ability to perform everyday tasks.

Promote wellness, recovery and occupational engagement through group and individual interventions

Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions: Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and functional abilities.
-Contribute to individualized treatment plans.
-Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting as needed.
-Provide education to patients and their families regarding safe disposition planning to least restrictive environment.
-Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
-Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
-Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay current with new techniques and best practices.


 

Qualifications

Education
Master's Degree Occupational Therapy required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
No

Licenses and Credentials
Occupational Therapist [State License]

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred.

Experience
Mental Health related occupational therapist experience 1-2 years preferred

Sub-acute/inpatient rehab experience also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.

-Good clinical judgement skills.

-Ability to work with limited supervision.
