Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Journeyman Masons for projects located in and around Allentown, PA.  This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $35/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are a Mason and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity, and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!  Job Scope:
  • Plan and layout CMU and brick installations, ensuring precise alignment and leveling for load-bearing walls and facades
  • Prepare and mix mortars, grouts, and adhesives, adjusting for weather conditions and material types
  • Lay CMU blocks and bricks using advanced techniques (running bonds, stack bonds, toothing), cutting materials to fit around openings and corners
  • Install reinforcement elements such as rebar, lintels, and anchors to enhance structural stability
  • Build and align forms, scaffolds, and supports, inspecting work for plumb, level, and square
  • Perform finishing tasks including pointing, tooling joints, cleaning surfaces, and applying sealants
  • Collaborate with other trades (carpenters, electricians) to integrate masonry with overall construction sequencing
  • Troubleshoot onsite issues including material defects or layout discrepancies
  • Maintain tools and equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards, including proper PPE usage and fall protection
Requirements:
    • 5+ years of journeyman-level masonry experience on commercial projects
    • Experience reading blueprints and calculating material quantities
    • Ability to achieve tight tolerances (e.g., 1/8-inch joint variations) and produce high-quality finishes
    • In-depth understanding of CMU types (standard, lightweight, architectural) and brick varieties (clay, concrete)
    • Ability to adapt to site challenges (uneven foundations, adverse weather)
    • OSHA 10 certification; TI offers course to qualified Employees who have yet to obtain the certification
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, work at heights, and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew
    • Must provide own masonry tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, high-visibility clothing)
