The purpose of the job is to generate ideas and to create new products and concepts together with the Global Marketing Organisation. The researcher manages and assures successful completion of the R&D tasks within an innovation project. The researcher provides business support during the launch phase of innovations
The researcher is an employee of Animal Nutrition R&D and is either hierarchically located in the Swine, Poultry, Ruminant or Ingredients Research Teams. The researcher reports to the Manager Research and leads R&D tasks (studies) in innovation projects. The project team of an innovation project is often a multidisciplinary team with a business leader to whom the project reporting has to be done.

We are looking for an experienced researcher in aquatic animal health with an innovative mindset and sound collaborative skills. In this role you will be a key player in the development of novel solutions optimizing fish and/or shrimp health for our fast growing aquafeed operations world-wide.

What you’ll do:

  • Planning, coordination and execution of research studies related to fish/shrimp health.
  • Development and implementation of novel technologies to assess aquatic animal health and facilitate research and development of functional nutrition solutions.
  • Provide technical support on fish/shrimp health issues to our operating companies.
  • Management of collaborative projects with internal and external partners.
  • Communication of results and findings to our key stakeholders; assist in implementation of innovations.

Who we’re looking for  

  • PhD in animal health, immunology, pathology or equivalent/veterinary background with experience in fish/shrimp health
  • Experience from commercial farming of fish/shrimp is an advantage.
  • Competence of experimental design of fish/shrimp trials and proficiency in statistics.
  • Network of scientific partners (preferably international).
  • Specific experience in functional feed development is preferable, but not a requirement.
