Security Installer IV or V

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installation Technician works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installation Technician also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

  • Install appropriate devices; dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean up installation debris.
  • Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
  • Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Test operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

What we look for

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate a fleet vehicle at all times.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.

Preferred

  • Technical school training is a plus.
  • 6 – 8 or more years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.00 - $36.05 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
