Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks Global Category Manager at its facility located at 5757 North Green Bay Ave., Glendale, WI 53209.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Develop, communicate, and implement comprehensive category strategies for assigned electrical or electronic categories. Meet procurement KPI’s and business objectives including cost reduction, working capital improvement, risk management, and service/quality improvement to Johnson controls while managing, OBM, OEM, and contract manufacturing supplier relationships. Support supplier relationships and work on escalation efforts when needed to secure supply or resolve supplier-related issues as they arise. Look over the ambiguity, make decisions with or without data, manage multiple priorities and drive change. Understand the internal and external collaboration fuels improvement and best practice. Develop, maintain, and implement best-in-class strategic sourcing strategies and build strong partnerships with strategic suppliers. Conduct Supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, selection, contracting and associated implementation for in-scope categories. Maintain accurate savings records in wave (enterprise-wide project management and reporting tool) and execute projects on-time and in accordance with transformation Office guidelines and policies. Support the business in new product development and help the Global Products Organization meet the business objectives. Work with the Product Business Units to ensure that commodity strategies and activities are aligned. Work on a team with a purpose to assure strategic commodities alignment across functions of the business, and project manages the strategy deployment across the products business globally. Work within a dynamic environment that provides a high-level of exposure and influence on people and business decisions. Develop detailed category strategies to support the Global Procurement Direct Materials organization. Ensure project management with plants to escalate and resolve quality, delivery, capacity, and other issues with your respective suppliers. Lead and MBBP (Materials Best Business Practice) and CI (Continuous Improvement) for assigned categories driving best product, process and footprint. Work on supplier contract negotiations, supplier selection and contract lifecycle including Trade Working Capital, Master Agreements, and Price Negotiations. Function as a center of excellence for the respective categories through complete understanding of industry, competition, future technologies and innovations. Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to categories such as cost savings, raw material economics, quality, supplier rationalization, LCC% content and other agreed objectives. Work on monthly or quarterly category reviews with dotted line global category team across the product business units and regions. Control and improve purchasing controlling and cost analysis to achieve savings and cost tracking. Manage one (1) direct report. Telecommuting: 100% Telecommuting Allowed. Travel Requirements: Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally required.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or a related field. Plus, Five (5) years of experience as a Strategic Sourcing Lead, Supply Chain Lead, or a related job in the procurement/sourcing industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Outsourcing with EMS/CEM in the field of electronics such as PCBA and Finished Goods levels; (2) Electronics products, market dynamics, and industry trends; (3) Data analysis and utilization of relevant software/tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Lean DNA; (4) Assessing, negotiating, and managing suppliers; and (5) ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP.
