York International Corporation seeks Senior Engineer at its facility located at 5000 Renaissance Dr, Building 1, New Freedom, PA 17349.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. Support the manufacturing of the product, represent the design team through initiating and executing design changes. Exhibit strong communication skills and effectively present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product managers, and business leaders. Collaborate as a part of the global chiller engineering team. Work under the guidance of the Product Engineering Manager to assist in the design and development of new products, while supporting the global production of existing products. Participate in various engineering activities to resolve factory and field technical issues. Maintain understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to mechanical and electrical aspects of chillers. Demonstrate expertise in mechanical design, conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product. Work closely with the design and drafting group in generating chiller layout concepts and system configurations. Generate engineering/design documentation and compile technical documents for use within the company. Prepare and execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of electrical and mechanical components and systems. Review and analyze test data to provide actionable input for design improvements and troubleshooting efforts. Apply regulatory codes such as UL, CE, PEDAND ASME in product design. Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and apply the philosophy of designing standard manufacturing process. Communicate the status of the projects, strive for continuous improvement, and promote teamwork in a global product development environment. Telecommuting: 2 days telecommuting per week allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Product Engineer, or related occupation with focus on thermal and structural design of cooling systems or similar fields. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Product development, project management, and sustaining configurable systems; (2) Electrical design (Power Systems); (3) Design for manufacturing; (4) Utilizing Analysis tools such as Ansys, SolidWorks, Autodesk; and (5) Utilizing CFD tools like Ansys CFD, Fluent.
