Additional Qualifications:

This role supports the PLS PolicyCenter Run Team in the production environment, supporting Auto, Property, Powersports, and Umbrella product offerings across Nationwide P&C. The position is responsible for delivering reliable production support solutions using modern digital and cloud-native technologies while helping improve platform stability, observability, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical troubleshooting skills, a production support mindset, and the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 production support for Guidewire PolicyCenter, including incident resolution, defect remediation, and P0/P1 escalations.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventative solutions.

  • Support monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability capabilities using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and New Relic.

  • Drive operational improvements through automation, resiliency enhancements, and performance optimization.

  • Partner with development, infrastructure, and business teams to support stable and secure production operations.

  • Participate in audit, compliance, and remediation activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Guidewire PolicyCenter development and production support experience.

  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud and cloud deployment concepts.

  • Strong understanding of Java development, API integrations, and event-driven architectures.

  • Experience with Kafka, IIB Message Broker, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and deployment automation tools.

  • Experience supporting production environments using DevOps, SRE, and Agile methodologies.

  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, Oracle preferred.

  • P&C insurance industry experience preferred.

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience:
Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
