As the Field Accounting Assistant Manager , you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions that keep the park running smoothly.

 

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Field Accounting is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for accounting operations at various locations, which includes creating training materials and supervising seasonal trainers. This role also involves hiring and managing a seasonal staff, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and providing ongoing support to location accounting offices. Additionally, the position requires extensive travel throughout the park to assist with daily operations and training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs for all accounting-related positions, including creating manuals and training materials
  • Hire and manage a seasonal staff of approximately 54 employees, including night auditors, while tracking staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage
  • Work with departmental managers to schedule training sessions and assist in developing training materials for cash-handling positions across various departments
  • Provide continuous training and support for personnel after location openings to ensure compliance with Xanterra Parks & Resorts accounting policies
  • Maintain open communication with location accounting offices, the General Accounting Office (GAO), and other department managers to facilitate effective operations
  • Offer on-site support for daily location accounting operations as needed, including assisting in the setup of location offices and transporting necessary equipment
  • Be available to cover shifts, work nights and weekends, and travel extensively throughout the park to provide necessary assistance
  • Complete various tasks assigned by the Manager, Field Accounting, such as research projects, updating field manuals, and coordinating with the Lodging Management System (LMS)

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid driver's license and has a clean driving record
  • Accounting degree and/or related work experience
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Motivational, organizational, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Office machine skills, especially PC experience
  • Knowledge of the following PC software: MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS Outlook®, MS Powerpoint®, MS Access®, IBM Client Access®
  • Knowledge of the following software: Kronos Timekeeping®

Physical Requirements include:

  • Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Extensive walking, lifting, and transporting of supplies and equipment at times
  • Loading company vehicles, moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to and from work stations on location (up to 100 yards)
