As the Kitchen Maintenance Technician -Park-wide, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

 

Job Summary:

The Park-wide Kitchen Maintenance Technician position involves performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on kitchen and facility equipment, with hands-on work across plumbing, steam, and electrical systems. The role requires proficiency with tools, drive systems, pumps, and valves, as well as basic computer and safety knowledge. Physical stamina, the ability to work in varied conditions, and mentoring junior technicians are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial kitchen and beverage equipment in satisfactory operating condition.
• Assist in the training of Food and Beverage Department personnel in the proper operation of kitchen equipment.
• Train General Maintenance Technicians in basic troubleshooting and repair of kitchen equipment.
• Accurately document labor and materials expended in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Conduct routine periodic inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Bring equipment on-line and conduct operational tests as the facilities open for the season; ensure equipment is properly laid-up at the end of the season.  

Qualifications

• Have the aptitude required to complete common mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.  
• Be proficient in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
• Possess a working knowledge and hands-on experience with drive systems (gear, belt and chain), bearings, flexible couplings, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, valves and valve actuators.
• Have a working knowledge and hands-on experience with plumbing, steam and electrical systems.
• Possess personal computer skills sufficient to efficiently work with the Microsoft Office software suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in company-specific software. 
• Have a general knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment.
• Be able to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Be capable of and willing to advance his or her technical knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self-study.  
• Be capable and willing to mentor and train less experienced Maintenance Technicians and tradesmen.

Physical Requirements include:

• This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations.
• Must be able to walk over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess physical stamina and condition to perform labor of moderate intensity, sometimes in an outside environment at high altitude (6,800 feet above sea level).
• Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time are required.
• Must be at least 19 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a good driving record for the past 3 years.
