Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Senior Designer to support the planning, design, and execution of store-related projects. This role is responsible for developing layouts, selecting materials, ensuring consistent brand aesthetics, and partnering closely with our Director of Design.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Director of Design, Merchants, and Marketing, to determine design preferences, purpose, and function of projects
• Produce detailed design drawings, elevations, material boards, and specifications for interior and exterior architectural and design elements
• Plans space layout, placement of furniture and equipment, color schemes and color coordination.
• Designs, draws, and creates specifications for layout needed for construction and renovation of store related projects utilizing computerized drawing program. (AutoCAD)(Revit) and (Sketch Up)
• Recommends materials to be used in construction including lighting, flooring, paint colors, fixtures, etc.
• Assists Director in selecting and purchasing accessories
• Studies new trends and design ideas to assist in the development of new projects.
• Manages project to assure adherence to the budget, deadlines, plans and specifications.
• Oversees store design projects to ensure “look” is uniform
• Works with store designers to maintain proper accessorizing in all stores and to develop showroom related projects; evaluates and gives feedback on showroom appearance.
• Travels to all locations and furniture / accessories markets as needed
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English
• Any other function or responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Interior Design
• 5-7 years in retail store design
• Proficient in using Auto CAD
• Experience with developing detailed design drawings, elevations, material boards, and specifications for interior and exterior architectural and design elements
• Excellent interpersonal skills needed
• Effective oral and written communication skills
•  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Project management skills
