Classification: Non-Exempt

 

Scope of Position

  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning using positive, professional behavior and adult learning methods
  • Deliver workshops to the PA CareerLink Philadelphia system in-person and virtually
  • Offer workshops that serve customers from all audiences and workforce programs
  • Support the use of virtual learning tools, platforms, and the PHL Career Portal
  • Support special projects team with instructional specific requests
  • Assist job seekers with resume writing skills, resume creation, and resume critique

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning through:
    • Establishing clear expectations and encouraging client accountability
    • Implementing a workshop structure in line with PA CareerLink program needs
    • Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths
  • Implement quality instructional practices
    • Vary methods of instruction to encourage attention and interest, including virtual, in-person, and supporting recorded learning modules
    • Utilize materials and activities to respond to differences in learning styles
    • Facilitate active learning
    • Demonstrate an awareness and commitment to the balance of individual and group needs
    • Responsible for delivering 2-3 workshops on any given business day
  • Model positive and professional behavior
    • Demonstrate positive, pro-social interactions with clients, staff and community representatives
  • Use written and spoken language adequately
  • Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
  • Model respect and professionalism in all situations
  • Demonstrate allegiance to the policies, procedures and expectations of EDSI and System Wide Services
  • Responsible for data tracking of every service provided and utilization of the state system of record, CWDS, as well as the team-wide reporting platform; Data capture is a daily responsibility
  • Assume functional supervision for facilitators at designated center, when appropriate
  • Participate in required program and community meetings
  • Collaborate effectively, and communicate proactively with staff and clients
  • Implement project management skills, tools, and methods
  • Demonstrate fluid approach to work and actively be part of continuous improvement

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Experience in training, education or career development
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, training, human resources, liberal arts or related area is preferred
  • Experience in teaching computer and technology skills is preferred
  • Driver’s license required
  • Must be comfortable teaching in physical and virtual classroom environments.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
