Salary:
Scope of Position: The Career Advisor provides individualized career counseling, job readiness training, and employment placement assistance to WIOA participants, guiding them along career pathways.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Provide career coaching to WIOA customers, including post placement, to ensure their goals are met in accordance with their designed Individual Employment Plan (IEP)
- Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with customers to aid in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment. This includes assessment, individualized coaching, and coordination with staff.
- Design a customer-driven IEP
- Help customers select appropriate training programs
- Accurately review, evaluate, and complete required documentation for WIOA registration eligibility
- Prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts in state system of record
- Conduct post-placement contacts with WIOA participants that have been exited
- Coach, motivate, and encourage all jobseekers in advancing employment, training, and retention goals while providing support in resolving issues that may impede successful job placement and retention
- Ensure jobseekers are job ready by reviewing their resumes and skill sets to meet the hiring standards and needs of employers with available positions

Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Possess an educational background to support career coaching decisions
- Must be organized and able to efficiently handle several tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated telephone, problem-solving, computer, and written communication skills
- Customer service experience required
- A working knowledge of MS Office
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
