Job Summary:
The Restaurant/Lounge Server delivers exceptional dining experiences by efficiently managing food and beverage orders, providing attentive service, and maximizing guest satisfaction through menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.

Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Greet guests promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival.
- Guide guests through the menu, providing detailed descriptions of dishes, ingredients, and specials.
- Offer thoughtful wine, cocktail, and pairing recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them efficiently into the POS system.
- Ensure food and drinks are delivered promptly, correctly, and attractively presented.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests quickly and courteously.
- Maintain attentive yet unobtrusive table presence throughout service.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy, escalating to management when appropriate.
Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen, bar, and host teams to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate special requests, allergies, and modifications clearly and accurately to the kitchen.
- Assist teammates during busy shifts — running food, refilling drinks, or resetting tables as needed.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about menu updates, specials, and service standards.
Restaurant Operations
- Set up and break down assigned sections, ensuring tables, linens, glassware, and utensils are spotless and properly arranged.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
- Process guest payments accurately, handle cash responsibly, and close checks efficiently.
- Follow all responsible alcohol service laws and restaurant policies.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
Professionalism & Growth
- Present a polished, professional appearance in accordance with uniform guidelines.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for food, wine, and hospitality.
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn about the menu, ingredients, and guest service techniques.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to anticipate guest needs, personalizing the dining experience and maintaining a warm, professional demeanor under pressure
- Comfort describing dishes, ingredients and preparation methods accurately and enthusiastically
- Basic understanding of wine varietals, craft cocktails, liquor and beer
- TIPs Montana certification required(training classes provided)
- Ability to efficiently enter orders, process payment sand manage guests checks using a point-of-sale system
- Clear, professional and courteous interactions with guests, teammates and management
- Ensure accuracy in orders, timing and presentation, maintaining consistency and quality throughout service
- Works cohesively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth, coordinated service
- Balances multiple tables and tasks in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality of service
- Maintain a neat, polished appearance and positive attitude reflective of Xanterra’s standards
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-service or casual fine dining environment.
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds regularly
- Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Working safely with required chemicals.
