Overview

A family in the Inner Richmond-Lake District of San Francisco, CA is seeking a wonderful live-out Mother's Helper/Family Assistant OR Nanny/Housekepeer. They are seeking 30-35 hours a week of care with a schedule of 8 or 9am until 4:30pm or 5pm for 3 at least days a week. They have a 4.5-year-old who is in school from 8:30am-4pm during the week and they have a newborn. The role won't begin until January 2026. This role will entailing partnering with the Mother who is a SAHM.

Responsibilities

• School pick up/drop off; a car for the candidate to use is provided
• Meal/snack prep for the children
• Likely some time each day will be spent on household duties such as children's laundry, kitchen clean up (including loading/unloading dishwasher), toy/bedroom tidying, grocery shopping. Tag teaming with the Mother on what needs to be done on a given day. The eldest child will be at school 32 hours a week, the baby will nap and be with Mom, so there will be ample time during day to support other household tasks. 
• Cooking the children dinner on occasion
• Comfortable around 1 dog and not allergic (Brittany Spaniel)
• Available to travel for domestic and international trips; 6 weeks in the summer they travel to places such as Europe and Hawaii (candidate may take her vacation time during this time or travel with the family)

Requirements

• A disposition of being warm, someone who loves children, has a can-do attitude and is happy to join a loving, happy family
• Invested in getting child(ren) outdoors in nature
• Trained or interested in the RIE approach - child led, focusing on self-reliance and autonomy for the childr(en), not breaking the child(ren)'s attention span or initiating adult-led play
• Likes to cook and can support making healthy, nutritious food for the children
• Ready to partner with a SAHM. Sometimes dividing and conquering and sometimes working together. Most childcare duties will be with infant, fewer hours spent with the nearly 5 year old. Sometimes the candidate will work together with the Mom for outings with both and sometimes will be expected to care for both at home
• Able to drive (car provided) for school/activity pickups and drop offs
• Open to a schedule with one late start and one late end per week (AKA an afternoon into date night)
• Childcare experience with infants and 5+ year olds

Salary and Benefits

• $40-45/hour
