Expertise and Functions

  • Analyze drawing/blueprints/tech data to determine supply needs
  • Create/Transcribe Bill of Materials (BoM)
  • Consolidate BoMs from multiple sources
  • Research and identify potential suppliers of goods and services
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, lead times, expectations, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods
  • Create purchase requests and tally these with supply requests and orders
  • Analyze invoices and shipping documents to ensure accuracy of goods delivered
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive
  • Attend meetings upon request to develop procurement strategies to support contracts
  • Work closely with the project teams to understand details of procurement requirements
  • Communicate pricing and performance needs to vendors, suppliers, and program managers
  • Document the features and benefits of products and services
  • Prepare cost-benefit analysis, sole source letters, and competitive quotes for review by managers
  • Document processes and generating supply cost reports
  • Monitor the company's demand for products to avoid supply shortages
  • Keep abreast of vendor and supplier-related activities in the industry
  • Flexible to work long hours as demanded by projects required
  • Travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary
  • Assist with establishing, organizing & maintaining inventory of gov’t, customer and KIHOMAC property
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor
  • Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings
  • Develop critical thinking skills, become familiar with engineering & manufacturing practices, and gain understanding of how various disciplines work together as a team
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training:

    • Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
    • Impeccable negotiation and problem-solving skills desired
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building required
    • Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment always 

Experience:

    • 10+ years of professional experience in the required task area 
    • Manufacturing experience required
    • Proven experience working with vendors and procuring materials required
    • Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions highly desired
    • JobBoss or similar ERP inventory management experience highly desired
    • Experience placing purchase requests highly desired

Security:

    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements

    • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
    • Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
    • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: 

The projected salary range for this position is $22-$28/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
