About the Opportunity
The Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified ophthalmologist to work alongside two other comprehensive ophthalmologists, each with their own private, fee-for-service practices situated within the hospital. The hospital serves patients from Yarmouth County as well as Digby and Shelburne Counties.
The position is suited to a true comprehensive ophthalmologist, providing general ophthalmic care for medical glaucoma, retina, cornea, uveitis, low vision, lids and cataracts. Interest or additional training in glaucoma and/or oculoplastics would be an asset.
The Operating Room, located at YRH, has an outstanding surgical support staff. There is OR time available for cataract surgery.
The Dalhousie Eye Care Centre (NSEC/IWK) is located in Halifax, approximately three hours away, and provides extensive sub-specialty care.
The successful applicant will be a strong patient-oriented team player who can interact successfully with other team members.
