South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH) is seeking a locum obstetrician/gynecologist to join their team for a six-month parental leave coverage from January to June 2026. The successful candidate will join a collegial and supportive group in a well-established service.
This position is a consultant OB practice only, with primary obstetrical care provided by a dedicated group of family physicians. The locum physician will provide office and operative gynecology, colposcopy, and some diagnostic imaging services (including hysterosalpingograms and biophysical profile ultrasounds) in a region where these services are highly valued. Call coverage is 1:5.
There are also opportunities to teach medical students and residents as a preceptor.
Compensation is currently provided through an Alternate Payment Plan (APP). Additional remuneration includes call stipends, fee-for-service payments for after-hours work, and other incentives available through the Nova Scotia Master Agreement.
Located in Bridgewater, SSRH has 85 inpatient beds and was originally founded in 1988, SSRH is a primary and secondary care hospital and designated district trauma centre.
