The Role

  • Serve as the staff liaison to the Wheelchair Tennis Committee.
  • Manage grassroots efforts for programs and player initiatives
  • Assist the Director of Wheelchair tennis in continued support to the liaisons within each of the USTA’s Business Units for wheelchair tennis’ specific needs
  • Coordinate and execute annual grassroots grant programs (as applicable).
  • Grassroots Grants, Net Generation Regional Provider Grants, VMAA (Veterans Monthly Assistance Allowance) AKA Stipends For Vets
  • Coordinate the sanctioning and scheduling process of USTA National Wheelchair Championships (Category I and II, and those with an ITF sanction), including education to TDs on Serve Tennis (Adult and Junior)
  • Manage - Junior Tournament Series and Junior National Championships - logistical support to TD’s, assist with WC Committee’s tournament selections
  • Manage - ITF distribution of applications, and distribution of prize money grants
  • Coordinate and Manage (Lead) - Coaching Development Workshops (PTR, RSPA), and All-Comers Camps

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience managing tournament logistics
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Tennis playing background is helpful.
  • Wheelchair coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in coordination, organization and data management
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Knowledge of Tennis Link, TDM and web content management systems is helpful.
  • This position is located out of Orlando FL National Campus offices designated as "hybrid/flex" and may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy."

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $72,000 - $85,000 yr.  Any additional pay or benefits a person may qualify for, are not included in this range. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job
