As a part of the T&I Team, the Lab Technician role will empower you to conduct chemical and thermal tests on minerals following standard processes on a lab scale. The role involves executing physical, chemical, and thermal procedures in the lab, including material preparation and analysis using tools, chemicals, and lab furnaces.

The Lab Technician will perform routine analytical procedures on plant samples, as well as conduct similar analyses on research samples and engage in basic analytical research projects under supervision.

Your Impact in This Role

As a Lab Technician, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure safe practices, conduct Last-Minute-Risk-Assessments, and maintain a clean working environment.

  • Carry out experiments involving mineral samples, utilizing chemical and thermal processes with acids and high temperature furnaces.

  • Attain and sustain proficiency in performing routine analytical procedures as per Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Support the validation, enhancement, and creation of analytical methods.

  • Develop proficiency in operating ICP spectrometers, laser particle sizers, and other instruments.

  • Adhere to the Laboratory Maintenance Plan for the upkeep of analytical equipment and facilities.

  • Review data for precision, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards before reporting.

  • Participate in project-related tasks within the Research and Development department, maintaining accurate records and expanding expertise.

  • ·Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, laboratory coursework may substitute for experience.

  • Seeking self-started ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • May at times be required to work weekend
