The Field Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting and promoting a strong safety culture across job sites, including turnarounds, shutdowns, and daily operations. This role works directly with field personnel and leadership to ensure compliance with company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Field Safety Advisor conducts site audits, facilitates safety meetings, investigates incidents, and provides hands-on guidance to mitigate risks and prevent injuries. This position serves as a key partner to operations by proactively identifying hazards, reinforcing safe work behaviors, and ensuring all safety protocols are consistently followed in the field.

Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Field Safety Advisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across all field operations, including turnarounds, shutdowns, and routine project work. This role provides hands-on safety support, ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and partners closely with operations to proactively identify and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site safety support for field operations, including crane, rigging, and heavy lift activities
  • Conduct regular job site audits, inspections, and safety observations to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Lead and participate in daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and pre-task planning discussions
  • Identify potential hazards and work with field leadership to implement corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, company procedures, and client-specific safety requirements
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; document findings and assist in implementing preventive measures
  • Support and coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices and hazard recognition
  • Assist with safety training and onboarding for new hires and existing employees
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation as required
  • Ensure proper use and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Serve as a liaison between field operations and the safety department to communicate safety expectations and updates
  • Support safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across all projects

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of field safety experience, preferably in construction, crane, or industrial environments
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards
  • Experience supporting turnarounds, shutdowns, or large-scale industrial projects preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach field personnel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk environment and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to walk job sites, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Work Environment:
This position is primarily field-based and will require travel to job sites, including remote locations. Work schedules may vary depending on project needs, including extended hours during turnarounds and shutdowns.
