About the Role

As an Inside Sales Intern at Wheatland Tube (a division of Zekelman Industries), you will gain exposure to inside sales, commercial operations, and outside sales while supporting customer-focused initiatives at our Rochelle facility. You’ll work across departments to communicate with customers, process orders, and learn how products move through the supply chain from inquiry to invoice.

You will report to the Director, Customer Service and gain hands-on experience in account management, order management, and business operations. This is a full-time, on-site internship located at our Wheatland Tube facility in Rochelle, IL.

The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships, analyzing data, and learning how sales and operations come together to support customer success.

What You’ll Do

• Proofread and process order entries to ensure product, price, and freight accuracy.
• Support account management by identifying unique customer activity and needs.
• Shadow outside sales representatives and learn best practices in customer relationship management.
• Partner with commercial operations to gain insight into supply chain and product flow.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends and support customer service initiatives.
• Participate in customer visits, plant tours, and team outings.
• Collaborate with teammates and customers to move material efficiently from order to delivery.
• Assist with Wheatland’s annual customer survey and related service improvement projects.
• Contribute to portal enhancements and departmental initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Collaborative and motivated to deliver excellent customer service.
• Available to travel for the Internship Summit, hosted at a Zekelman Industries location.
