About the Role

As an Inside Sales Intern at Wheatland Tube (a division of Zekelman Industries), you will support the sales teams at our Council Avenue facility. You’ll work across departments to communicate with customers, manage orders, and gain exposure to the sales cycle of the largest independent steel tube and pipe manufacturer in North America.

You will report to the Manager, Inside Sales and gain hands-on experience in order management, account management, and product management. This is a full-time, on-site internship located at our Wheatland Tube facility on Council Avenue.

The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and wants to learn how customer relationships drive business success.

What You’ll Do

• Proofread and process order entries to ensure product, price, and freight accuracy.
• Support account management by identifying unique customer activity and needs.
• Analyze data to identify customer trends and assist with ongoing customer service initiatives.
• Shadow outside sales representatives to gain insight into customer relationship management.
• Participate in customer visits, plant tours, and team outings.
• Provide visibility into account activity by preparing reports and summaries for management.
• Collaborate with teammates and customers to move material through the supply chain, from inquiry to invoice.
• Contribute ideas to portal enhancements and departmental projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Collaborative and motivated to deliver excellent customer service.
• Available to travel for the Internship Summit, hosted at a Zekelman Industries location.
