About the Role

As a Cyber Security Intern at Zekelman Industries, you will support critical projects that strengthen the protection of our systems, networks, and data in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You’ll collaborate with IT and security professionals to monitor threats, assess vulnerabilities, and help implement controls that safeguard our business operations.

You will report to the Senior Information Security Manager and gain exposure to tools, techniques, and strategies used to detect, prevent, and respond to security risks. This is a full-time, on-site internship located at our Wheatland Tube facility on Council Avenue.

The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026.

This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, curious about technology, and motivated to solve problems in the evolving field of cyber security.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and analyze system and network activity to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
• Assist in incident response activities, including documentation, remediation, and reporting.
• Review vulnerability scans and basic risk assessments to support system security.
• Help maintain and update security procedures, policies, and access controls.
• Research and recommend emerging cyber security tools and best practices.
• Assist with security control configuration and implementations.
• Support training initiatives that promote cyber security awareness across the business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong interest in information security and data protection.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Collaborative team player able to work across multiple departments.
• Available to travel for the Internship Summit, hosted at a Zekelman Industries location.
