Job Duties:

The Stritch Family Literacy Center Site Coordinator establishes, enhances, and maintains systems for ongoing development and delivery of CLIFFTOPS literacy intervention curriculum. This includes pre- and post-assessment and instruction of students, training and coaching of Master Instructors and their ongoing professional development. The Site Coordinator is a part of the Stritch Family Literacy Center (SFLC) leadership team and collaborates with the Executive Director to oversee daily operations and create plans for the SFLC. The Site Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the SFLC.

This position is for the academic year plus six weeks in summer The summer schedule will align with tutoring schedule each year.

Job Responsibilities

Assessment of Students (25%) 

  • Analyze initial assessment data with the Master Instructor and classroom teacher. Review the student report and intervention plan, including semester objectives, home extension plan, and lesson plan format, to share with parents. 

  • Assist with student assessment and student report creation as needed. 

  • Read all student post-assessment reports and provide feedback on needed intervention modifications. The Site Coordinator is responsible for reading instruction at the initial site. This task can be shared as additional sites are created and Site Coordinators are hired. 

  • Provide stand-along assessment battery and report creation as requested. 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Consistently communicate with families and Master Instructors on student progress. 

 

Master Instructor Recruitment, Training, and Coaching (25%) 

  • Supervise Master Instructor instruction, including lesson plan review, modeling, observation, coaching of instructional sessions, and providing feedback. 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Develop and facilitate the in person/virtual training for Master Instructors. 

  • Provide ongoing professional development. 

Ongoing Systems Planning and Communication (15%) 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Complete a series of replicable modules of CLIFFTOPS training that can be used independently by institutions and schools. 

  • Develop, oversee, and maintain materials to support tutoring in ensuring the fidelity of CLIFFTOPS

CLIFFTOPS Curriculum (10%) 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Develop an online format for initial and ongoing Master Instructor training. 

  • Provide triannual, systematic, ongoing professional development aligned with the CLIFFTOPS model including assessment protocol (e.g. QRI, Woodcock) SFLC binder scholarship and resources, site signage, and lesson plan. 

 

Operational Components (10%) 

  • Scheduling pre- and post-assessment conferences between parents and Master Instructors. 

  • Oversee organization of SFLC library system.  

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Scheduling instructors and students for assessment and tutoring as well as make-ups. 

 

PR and Marketing (10%) 

  • With the Program Assistant, develop and maintain social media pages. 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Provide outreach to schools. 

 

Growth and Expansion (5%) 

  • In collaboration with Executive Director: Develop overview of future plans 

  • Collaborate with site(s) to determine relationships 

  • Work jointly to develop and implement a literacy instruction curriculum and sequence for classroom teachers, emphasizing enhancing Tier 1, 2, and 3 practices

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and may train other staff in use of said instructional techniques
  • Provides supplemental instruction for students enrolled in classroom, online, and/or laboratory courses in a variety of formats such as one-on-one sessions, group sessions, peer mentor sessions, and seminars
  • Meets with students for intake and general assessment and makes referrals to others on campus as appropriate
  • May supervise the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support
  • Works to develop and/or design curriculum and/or techniques for instruction in a disciplinary area and suggests new ways of effective instruction within that discipline
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
  • Assesses learner performance and may prepare reports recommending instructional improvements
  • May participate in strategic planning and grant proposals for instructional development, new teaching methods, and program direction

Compensation: The contract is for the academic year plus six weeks of summer. Earnings will be $80,192 for 10.5 months.

Required Qualifications:

  • History of teaching and/or providing services to children from diverse backgrounds. 

  • Administrative experience consistent with the position roles.  

  • M.A. or M.S. in Language and Literacy, Reading, or related education field.  

  • Reading Teacher and/or Specialist license 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D/Doctorate in Language and Literacy, Reading, or related education field. 

  • Experience in Milwaukee Public Schools and the communities of Milwaukee and/or the metro area.
