Overview:
The Associate Vice President – Cyber and Physical Security leads the development and implementation of cybersecurity and physical protection strategies for critical infrastructure in the water and energy markets. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and business development to deliver secure, resilient, and compliant systems. The successful candidate demonstrates strategic thinking, technical depth, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Cyber and Physical Security team, providing technical direction, mentoring, and performance management.
- Plan, design, and oversee implementation of cyber and physical security systems for water and energy infrastructure projects.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated cybersecurity strategies to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations across water and energy infrastructure.
- Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance during client meetings and project planning sessions.
- Independently manage multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
- Conduct cybersecurity assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective measures.
- Develop comprehensive Cybersecurity Response Plans, Security Master Plans, and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Design secure network architectures for operational technology (OT) and control systems environments.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, reports, basis-of-design documents, and responses to client comments.
- Oversee construction-phase activities, including submittal reviews, responses to contractor inquiries, and field observations.
- Estimate construction costs and resource requirements for cybersecurity and physical security systems at all project phases.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead business development efforts through proposal preparation, client presentations, and pursuit strategy.
- Foster client satisfaction and long-term partnerships through consistent communication and delivery excellence.
- Promote innovation, quality, and continuous improvement within the security practice.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity and physical security consulting, preferably in the water and energy sectors.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential required.
- Proven experience in SCADA or operational technology (OT) system design, planning, and assessment.
- Strong background in network design, system integration, and cybersecurity strategy development.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multidisciplinary projects and teams.
- Experience developing and implementing physical security plans for critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or law enforcement protocols preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel and maintain a valid driver’s license.
