Saint Joseph’s University is seeking a senior member of its Advancement Team – Director of Major Gifts for Special Projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
Manage a portfolio of up to 125 major gift prospects:
Secure $1 million - $2 million in outright major gifts and/or new commitments; and open $2 million annually in new gifts
Secure 120 quality visits per year while completing 250 quality moves and qualifying 50 major gift prospects annually.
Develop strategies for each prospect in their portfolio based on the gift cycle; manage and update strategies and key next steps as necessary, utilizing the Donor Engagement Process (DEP) prospect management system.
Prepare briefings for program leaders and Advancement Leadership for visits.
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly status updates on major gift progress for program leaders and Advancement Leadership.
Regularly include the senior Advancement Staff and academic and program leadership in visits and donor engagement that supports fundraising efforts.
Work with prospect management and research to generate new leads to support assigned priorities.
Collaborate with university staff, faculty senior staff, and other relevant personnel to support the fundraising needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in major gift fundraising or equivalent experience
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to effectively establish relationships internally and with alumni, donors, vendors, colleagues, and the entire Saint Joseph's community.
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
Previous College/University fundraising experience
Plus Delta Training
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Standing for long periods of time
Some travel required, specifically in the U.S. outside of the Philadelphia region
Evening/weekend hours required, especially during academic year
