Maintenance Technician I - Weekend Day Shift

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and routine maintenance in support of manufacturing and upkeep of the facility to include corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve them with minimal assistance.
  • Communicate with vendors to identify and purchase parts.
  • Cross train with other technicians to broaden the knowledge base of the Maintenance department
  • Help to maintain inventory of critical spare parts.
  • Participate in projects to upgrade the facility and manufacturing processes.
  • Complete documentation related to the position such as work orders and logbooks.
  • Support a 24/7-day operation.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.  Trade School diploma, Military Training or Associates from a technical college preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic position or related job role.
  • Experience performing industrial maintenance in Pharmaceutical, Dairy or Food industries preferred.  Emphasis on Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Ability to multitask or handle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong teambuilding skills.  Good communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of the organization including technical teams and leadership.
  • Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Motors, Conveyors, and PLCs.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, PFDs and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Proven effective problem-solving skills - engaging internal and external customers as needed.
  • Able to work OT including holidays and nights.
  • Previous experience with 5S, Lean, TPM, and inventory management preferred.
  • Safety procedures – Arc Flash, LOTO, PPE, Confined Space, Chemical Handling.
  • Must be able to work safely following all OSHA and SQF requirements.
  • Must be able to operate power material handling equipment and power tools in a safe and effective manner.  Includes forklifts and other Powered Industrial Vehicles.
