Position Description:
 

The Radiology Tech performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures related to diagnostic radiology for the diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiology exams, including surgery and standard x-rays.
• Accurately record and file patient information, reports, and related documentation.
• Monitor and report supply inventory needs to the Radiology Coordinator.
• Assist fellow technologists and support training of students and new staff.
• Monitor equipment performance, warm up x-ray tubes, and report malfunctions.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and patients; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications:
1. Must be licensed by the Louisiana Board of Radiologic Technology Examiners.
2. Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist required or must obtain registration within 90 days of employment.
