The Assistant Director of Creative Services provides leadership for the design, development, and implementation of creative projects, including multimedia content, graphic design, instructional media, and digital assets.
This role focuses on enhancing the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of visual and multimedia elements produced by CIRT through strong project oversight, clear processes, and collaboration with campus partners.
The Assistant Director supervises Creative Services unit leads and supports the development and refinement of workflows that guide media creation, ensuring the use of best practices and innovative techniques that streamline production and improve output quality. This position emphasizes operational leadership and coordination for CIRT’s Creative Team.
Job Functions
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise the Video Production Manager, Coordinator of Marketing & Publications, and IT Support Specialist.
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support for direct reports.
Ensure effective communication and coordination across CIRT’s teams.
Creative Operations & Workflow Management
Oversee daily operations of video production, instructional media development, graphic design, and creative technology services.
Use project management software (ClickUp) to organize, track, and manage Creative Services projects, ensuring clear visibility into timelines, workloads, priorities, and project status.
Develop and maintain processes for efficient project intake, scheduling, resource allocation, and timely delivery of creative assets.
Ensure adherence to UNF's design, branding, accessibility, and quality standards across all Creative Services outputs.
Support studio operations, equipment usage protocols, and digital asset management workflows.
Stay current with UNF’s branding standards and visual identity guidelines to ensure all creative projects align with institutional expectations and maintain a consistent, professional presentation across media formats.
Project Coordination & Faculty Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for Creative Services project scoping, timeline planning, and expectation setting.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic units to determine appropriate media and design solutions for instructional and promotional needs.
Monitor project progress, communicate updates, and resolve workflow bottlenecks to ensure timely completion.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
Create, refine, and maintain standardized workflows, templates, and production guidelines that enhance efficiency and consistency.
Promote continuous improvement by reviewing the team’s work products.
Working with other CIRT teams leads to identifying operational challenges and implementing solutions that strengthen team productivity and service quality.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with the Director and other CIRT leadership to align unit operations with departmental goals.
Provide operational updates, workload metrics, and emergent needs to support planning and decision-making.
Maintain strong relationships with campus partners involved in media production, communications, and creative technology.
Resource & Technology Support
Identify equipment, software, and infrastructure needs to support creative operations and recommend purchases to the Director.
Assist with lifecycle planning and maintenance of creative production equipment in collaboration with the IT Support Specialist.
Required Qualifications
Master’s and 2+ years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Marginal Functions
