Freese and Nichols is looking for National Technical Specialist – Water Reuse in Frisco, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Denton, Texas. As National Technical Specialist, you will help shape and grow Freese and Nichols’ water reuse capabilities by leading technical strategy, strengthening best practices, supporting complex pursuits, and advancing project quality across the firm.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead technical strategy for water reuse and advanced treatment services across the practice
  • Develop and refine best practices, tools, specifications, details, and training materials related to water reuse, advanced treatment, and membrane based systems
  • Support strategic pursuits by defining technical approaches, identifying resources, reviewing proposals, and participating in shortlist interviews
  • Guide teams in responding to emerging regulations, treatment trends, and client needs related to potable reuse, nonpotable reuse, and advanced treatment applications
  • Serve as Senior Advisor and/or Quality Control Reviewer on key projects and help improve standards, processes, and lessons learned
  • Present technical content at conferences, contribute to industry publications, and support client focused seminars that elevate national visibility
  • Mentor technical staff and support recruiting efforts for strategic hires that strengthen water reuse expertise across the firm
  • Partner with practice and technical leaders to identify innovation opportunities, support R&D initiatives, and expand national technical capability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Professional Engineer in your state of residence with the ability to obtain licensure in other states where the practice operates within 6 months of hire
  • 15+ years of experience with recognized expertise in water reuse, advanced treatment, and related technical leadership
  • Ability to lead others, deliver complex projects, and develop technical approaches for proposals
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently to achieve results

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Nationally recognized expertise through presenting, moderating, publication, or similar industry leadership related to water reuse or advanced treatment
  • Active participation in industry organizations related to water reuse, advanced treatment, or W/WW Treatment
  • Leadership experience within relevant professional organizations
  • Experience developing firmwide best practices, training content, and quality improvements across multi-office teams
