JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Painter

Department: Engineering

Supervision Exercised: None

Supervision Received: Engineering Supervisor / Assistant Chief Engineer / Chief Engineer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational training in painting, finishing, or related trades preferred.

Experience

  • Previous painting experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, or residential work required.
  • Experience with drywall repair, texturing, and finishing preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Skilled in painting, taping, priming, sanding, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to match paint colors, understand finishes, and perform clean, detailed work.
  • Knowledge of proper paint types, safety procedures, and surface preparation.
  • Experience with drywall patching, caulking, and minor carpentry repairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at various heights.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Paint guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces as needed.
  • Prepare surfaces by patching, sanding, cleaning, and priming.
  • Match colors and finishes to maintain consistent appearance throughout the property.
  • Complete touch-ups and repairs from daily use, wear, or damage.
  • Maintain equipment, brushes, rollers, and painting supplies.
  • Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting tasks.
  • Assist with drywall repairs, caulking, and minor finishing work.
  • Track completed work orders and maintain accurate logs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, ventilation requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership.
