Position:  Assistant General Manager

Department: Warehouse / Delivery Operations / Account Management – Werner Final Mile (WFM)

Work Environment: Onside 

Shift:  Full Time / 5 days / Open Schedule availability / Start Time 4:30am / Tuesday to Saturday

Industry: Transportation/ Furniture Delivery and / or Assembly / White Glove Delivery

Job Summary:

The position will support a new business start-up of an “two- person” delivery driver & helper (employee or independent contracted contractors) and associated personnel in a fast-paced, environment. Supports all facets of the operation, transportation, delivery operations, and inventory control.

  • Support measuring and monitoring of the complete fulfillment cycle to meet and exceed client requirements-including transportation, receiving and quality inspections, return inventory management.
  • 1-3 years effective in managing internal warehouse movement and strong focus on owning inventory. 
  • Supporting a team of Warehouse off loaders.  
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, technology, order fulfillment to retail, transportation, and supply chain management.
  • Continuously lift, lower, push, pull furniture up to and in excess of 80-100 lbs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership ability: demonstrated ability to build, mentor, train, grow and lead a team.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Position Requirements (Experience).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in warehouse management, distribution, and four wall inventory control - preferably in big box consumer goods or last-mile distribution.
  • AS/BS/BA degree preferred. coursework or college degree in related field a plus.
