We have a fantastic opportunity for a (Full-Time) Patient Account Representative in our Montefiore New Rochelle facility.

Job Summary
The Patient Accounts Representative plays a crucial role in managing patient accounts and ensuring accurate billing and collections within a medical office environment. This position involves working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and maintain accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes to facilitate efficient account management and have at least two year with receivables and/or Medicaid applications

Duties

  • Helping with receivables and Medicaid application for patients
  • Manage patient accounts by verifying insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Process medical billing and collections for services rendered.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies in patient accounts, including coding errors.
  • Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, and other coding systems to ensure accurate billing.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts, including payment plans and outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes.
  • Stay informed about changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in medical office operations and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding, including ICD-10 and DRG systems.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and its application in billing processes.
  • Experience with medical records management and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
