The Critical Care PA will provide direct clinical services to critically ill patients with multi-organ or multi-system disease failure in adult surgical, and medical ICUs. The PA will work 50/50 days/nights and 2/4 weekends per schedule

Responsibilities include:

  • Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations
  • Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician
  • Assess patients’ change in status and institute appropriate interventions
  • Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients
  • Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members
  • Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient’s clinical status

Experience and Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York
  • ACLS/BLS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Prior experience as a PA in Critical Care a plus
