As a Painter with our Facilities Management team, you will prep, paint, repair, and restore everything from doors and railings to walls and ceilings. About Us
As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. We Require
Three years of commercial painting experience
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program may substitute for up to two years of the experience requirement
Other Requirements
Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities

Experience in computer work related to Signage Design and printing, using Graphtec vinyl cutters and Adobe Illustrator or Vinyl Cut Pro.
Job Contributions
Prepare interior and exterior building surfaces for painting by repairing, cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, texturing, caulking, masking, and priming all types of surfaces, including drywall, plaster, wood, metal, and masonry
Apply paint, stain, varnish, epoxy, sealants, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools
Perform color matching and finish blending to maintain a consistent and professional appearance throughout County facilities
Operate and maintain painting equipment, ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and related tools in a safe and effective manner while utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following applicable safety procedures
Protect building occupants, furniture, flooring, fixtures, and surrounding work areas from dust, paint, and debris during maintenance activities
Safely utilize chemicals for graffiti removal and surface preparation
Perform parking lot striping, stenciling, and curb painting
Perform hazardous material control and proper disposal of old paint products and related materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations
Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory tracking, work assignments, and related functions, utilizing Maximo and Workday
Trade work, including but not limited to carpentry, metal work, and flooring repairs
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
Special working environments include, but are not limited to, adult and juvenile detention facilities; medical facilities, both detention and public health; forensics; courts; and related justice facilities
This position may require a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Protective Equipment Required
Must be capable of using various forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
